What to expect:
Immediately after the procedure, some clients may experience swelling, redness and tenderness similar to a sunburn. This can last anywhere from a few hours, to a couple of days. Do not be alarmed, this is totally normal. You may take Advil, if OK’d by your doctor, to help with any swelling or discomfort. Covering an ice pack with fresh paper towel and putting directly on the skin is usually the quickest way to relieve pain and itching
The first 3-6 days after the procedure, your brows will appear darker, larger and more defined
Within the first few days, the area will begin to lightly scab (flakey skin) and may feel a bit itchy. DO NOT scratch or pick at the flakes. Scratching or picking at the flakes of skin will result in colour loss and affect the end result. Instead, lightly clean with the cotton balls that were provided to you and moisturize using the ointment that was also provided
How to care for your brows:
Always wash your hands before touching your eyebrows
1 hour following your procedure, lightly splash the area (eyebrows) with cold water. Do not repeat this step every time you clean them. Use a sterile sodium chloride cotton ball provided to you to gently remove body fluids from your brows, going in the direction of hair growth and against it (one cotton ball for both brows), with light pressure
Pat eyebrows dry with a paper towel (no fabric towels unless clean and one time use) and use a clean Q-tip to apply aftercare ointment provided to you. Repeat this process twice daily (morning, bedtime) for 10-14 days thereafter
If you feel the area is becoming dry or itchy, apply ointment provided to keep your eyebrows moisturized. You may apply ice to help with itching, but be sure to cover with a clean paper towel
Avoid washing the brow area, using cleansers or anything with chemicals. When you shower or wash your face avoid getting water directly on them; if some water trickles onto them, lightly pat dry with paper towel
Sleep on your back to avoid colour loss for the first 7-10 days following procedure
Avoid makeup for 2 weeks following the procedure. If you can’t, apply everywhere except around the eyebrow area
DO NOT scratch, rub or pick at brows during the healing process (10-14 days)
Avoid swimming, steam baths, saunas, facials for the 1st week following procedure
Avoid exercise for the first 14 days following procedure
Avoid exfoliants, chemical peels, laser or microdermabrasion for 2-4 weeks following procedure, and even after, avoid going over or around the eyebrow area
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds during healing process
Keep bangs and hats away from the eyebrow area during the healing process (10-14 days)
